What is CRM2 and How Does it Affect You?

CRM2 or “Client Relationship Model: Phase 2”, is an initiative mandated by the Canadian securities regulators for more transparency and better disclosure as it relates to Charges & Fees and Performance Reporting.  What does this mean for you?

Starting with your December 31, 2016 statement, you can expect two new annual reports from our Head Office.
  1. Charges and Compensation Report (click here for sample)
  1. Investment Performance Report (click here for sample)
You will receive these two reports for each account we have on file for you.

We moved to a more transparent business model several years ago (fee-based model) to ensure full transparency of fees.  We have also been utilizing a money-weighted reporting platform for many years as well.  So you may notice little or no difference as a result of these new reports.

We welcome these regulatory changes for the industry as a whole and would be pleased to answer any questions you (or anyone important to you) might have.  If you would like to discuss and review these new reports in more detail, please contact our office to book a time to meet.
